Patricia Ann Metcalf

Patricia Ann Metcalf was born Feb. 4, 1967, in Rock Island, Ill., the daughter of Louis Metcalf and Lavern Cartwright Metcalf. She departed this life on June 5, 2023, in St. Louis, Mo.

Patricia’s family moved from Detroit, Mich., in 1986 to Arkansas, but Patricia remained in Detroit and later moved to Blytheville. Patricia attended Henry Ford High School in Detroit. She received her B.S. in General Studies and M.A. in Early Childhood Education. Patricia worked in the education system for over 35 years, and her love and passion for children was displayed through her generosity and compass.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Metcalf; brother, Joe Louis Metcalf; and husband, Jimmy Bell.

Patricia accepted the Lord at a young age and was baptized at New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, under the leadership of pastor Charles Caldwell.

Patricia’s survivors include three children, Christopher Metcalf, of Sacramento, Calif., Preston Allen and Aaliyah Bell, both of Blytheville; mother, Ms. Lavern Metcalf; sisters, Diana Metcalf Parker, Theresa Metcalf, Deborah Metcalf Merriweather, all of Blytheville, and Kim Metcalf of Romulus, Mich.; brothers, Thomas Metcalf of Blytheville, Theoda Metcalf of El Paso, Texas, Maurice Parker of Detroit, Mich., and William Metcalf of Miami, Fla. Patricia leaves behind eight grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 17, from 11:00-11:55 a.m. at New Jerusalem M.B. Church in Blytheville. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 (noon). Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville.
