Jimmy Dearl Cole, 68, of Lonoke, formerly of Blytheville, passed away June 11, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock.

Jimmy was born in Dell to Pauline and Eldon Cole. He was a 1973 graduate of Armorel High School. He worked for Associated Natural Gas for 15 years before retiring from Nucor Yamato Steel, where he was a crane operator.

Jimmy will be remembered for his devotion to his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle. Anyone who knew him knew he was kind and would do anything for you. He was the one everyone called for advice. He was a straight shooter and often gave you a hard dose of reality.

Jimmy had a great sense of humor. He was always telling jokes and willing to listen to yours. Many family and friends have fallen victim to his pranks.

Jimmy enjoyed working outside. He was known for his impeccable lawn. Everyone knew not to mess up his grass. If it was up to him, he wouldn’t have let people even walk on it.

Upon his departure from this earth, he was reunited with his parents and his wife, best friend, and soulmate of 47 years, Shirley Cole.

Jimmy leaves behind his beloved daughter, Kristy Curtright and her husband Justin of Cabot; siblings, Eddie Cole of Atkins, Vir., Sue Anderson of Dyersburg, Tenn., Lola Bowen and husband Ray of Manila, Donnie Cole of Blytheville, Paula Edwards of Osceola, and Ricky Cole of Blytheville; along with a number of very special nieces and nephews that he thought the world of.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 16, at 1 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Welch officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
