Elizabeth Gardenhire “Betty” Harston

Elizabeth Gardenhire “Betty” Harston, 75 of Tyronza, formerly of Joiner, passed away April 22, 2023, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was a retired factory worker and a member of First Pentecostal Church in Lepanto. Ms. Harston was born July 11, 1947 in Tipton County, Tenn., to Andrew Jackson Gardenhire and Barbara Cynthia Price Shepard. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Harston; one stepson, Bruce Harston; one brother, Joe Keith Smith; three sisters, Willokay Wolford, Peggy Crabb and Barbara Bennett.

She is survived by four sons, Jim (Amanda) Harston of Ashland, Miss., Doran (Miriam Carlton) Harston and Charles Keith Harston of Joiner and Gaylon Don Harston of Cartersville, Ga.; three daughters, Cynthia Gibbs of Tyronza, Vivian Harston of Joiner and Felecia (Alex Cobb) Harston of Blytheville; one sister, Judy McGrew of Mecca, Ind.; 28 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 26, from 6-8 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church in Lepanto. The funeral will be Thursday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church in Lepanto with Bro. Bill John Harris and Bro. Jonathan Neely officiating. Burial will be at Louise Chapel Cemetery in Joiner. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of the services.
