Wanda R. Dye

Monday, April 17, 2023

On April 16, 2023, Wanda R. Dye passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 85 years old. Wanda was the proud mother of four children. Wanda’s greatest love was her family. She had many great stories of growing up with 13 brothers and sisters on a farm in Missouri. She was a military wife who took her role seriously while raising four children and keeping the house and working while her Air Force husband did a tour of duty in Vietnam and two short tours overseas. She was a strong woman who held many prestigious positions in her life including running several successful restaurants and being a valued manager at the military Base Exchange, and she still made time to assist her husband run for office in Blytheville. She was appreciated for her boldness, her strength, and she was a no-nonsense woman, which she attributed to her being raised on a farm. Wanda was also kind to a fault. Many times, she put her own life on hold to help her family, friends, and even people she did not know. She will be truly missed by her family, friends, and the community.

Wanda was predeceased by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Brent Dye.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ingram; her sons, Charles “Ike” Dye, and his wife, Deborah Dye, William Dye, and his wife, Lori Dye, Wayne Dye, and his wife, Debbie Dye. She also was a grandmother of eight children and great-grandmother, lovingly known as G.G., to 13 great-grandchildren.

They invite you to join them for the homegoing service. The service will be Friday, April 21, at Carney Funeral Home Chapel at 12 p.m. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until services begin. The burial will be at Carney Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at carneyfuneralhome.com
