She was so proud of her 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Williams, Kathy Simpson, Nancy Patton and Patsy Parker.

Attending church was always important to Shirley. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist and Fairview Baptist in Blytheville; Desha First Baptist in Batesville,; and Illmo Baptist Church in Scott City, Mo. In her younger years, she loved teaching Sunday school, and she was active in helping the seniors in the church by taking them to appointments and having fun sight-seeing adventures. She enjoyed visiting the elderly in nursing homes and delighted in her grandchildren accompanying her. Most importantly she found joy in being surrounded by her family.

“…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15
