Billy Howard Bowman

Billy Howard Bowman, 85, of Searcy, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023, at his home. He was born on May 4, 1937, in Keiser, to the late Otis Thurman and Mildred Flora (Crawford) Bowman. Billy was a very outgoing and sociable person; he never met a stranger. He was kindhearted, giving and had a great sense of humor. Billy worked for 45 years as a truck driver and drove millions of miles across the nation. He had a strong work ethic and was a great provider for his family. His four children will always remember the excellent daddy he was to them.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Fran Bowman; children, Rhonda Moore (Rex), Danita Cheryl Fiscus (Al), Tony Howard Bowman (Jona), Jana Bowman (Diann); one brother, Wayne Bowman (Mary Ruth) of Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Tyler Neal, Alexandra Bunn (Alex), Clayton Fiscus, Savannah Summitt (Will), James Fiscus (Hope), Nikki Bowman (John Frazier), and Will Bowman; six great grandchildren, Sasha R. Moore, Emma Bunn, Madeline Bunn, Eliza Summitt, Evelyn Summitt, and Harper Frazier.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Charles Bowman, Peggy Brooks, Shirley Sammons, Don Bowman, Steve Bowman, and Gary Bowman.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Searcy, with Bro. James Hays officiating. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Weir Cemetery in McRae.
