Lillie Rose Smith Sanders

Lillie Rose Smith Sanders of Blytheville was born in Armorel July 7, 1943, the daughter of Robert “Jack” Smith and Elnora Gatewood Smith. Lillie Rose was a cafe and nightclub owner in Chicago, Ill., and Blytheville, Ark. She was a stylish dresser with a beautiful smile, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Although she never had any biological children, Lillie Rose lavished that mother’s love on her nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Lee Smith and David Smith; and a sister, Mildred Smith Lawshea. She passed away, Thursday, March 16, 2023, at her home at the age of 79.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her sister, Treather Smith of Blytheville; her brother, Michael Smith, also of Blytheville; a host of loving nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
