Mary Katherine Dyer O’Neal

Mary Katherine Dyer O’Neal passed from this life Feb. 17, 2023, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. She was born in Blytheville to Marion Dyer and Esther McWilliams Dyer. Katherine graduated from Armorel High School and was a charter member and graduate of Mississippi County Community College where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She furthered her education at Blue Mountain Community College in Blue Mountain, Miss. Katherine earned a Nurse’s Aide Certificate from Cotton Boll Vocational Technical School. She was also a licensed cosmetologist.

In addition to her scholastic achievements, Katherine also worked as the clerk for Armorel Post Office. And for over 40 years she managed the books for her late husband’s business, Bobby O’Neal Construction Company.

Katherine was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She loved and served her church in numerous capacities, including church decorator for many years. As the church historian, she helped author the book, “History in Part”. Katherine loved and was extremely devoted to her family. She will always be remembered as a Christian lady who was gentle and kind to everyone she met. Katherine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Ray O’Neal, Sr; her brother, Jerry Marcus Dyer; and sisters, Betty Dyer Galloway and Linda Dyer Killebrew.

Katherine is survived by her two sons, Bob O’Neal, Jr. and his wife Leslie of Bentonville and Rodney O’Neal of Blytheville; her sisters, Fran Dyer Moore of Memphis, and Sharon Dyer Webb and her husband Ronnie of Paragould; her granddaughter, Paige O’Neal Mhoon and her husband Brian of Bentonville; grandson, Joshua O’Neal and his wife Lindy of Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Saylor, Anniston and Hyson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Coy Camp. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Josh O’Neal, Brian Mhoon, Harold Alt, John Worland, Randall Woolsey and John Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 816 Delmar, Blytheville, AR 72315.
