Berlon Waymon Thrasher Sr., 80, of Manila passed away Feb. 9, 2023 at his residence. He was a retired mechanic and of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Thrasher was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Sheffield, Ala., to Emmitt and Maebelle Randolph Thrasher. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Teresa Gayle Thrasher and Sherry Mae Hall; four brothers, Emmitt Jr., Vernon, Aaron and Shorty Thrasher; five sisters, Audrey Watson, Wynadeen Manley, Vera Dean Terry, his twin sister Bernice Nichols, Ivalean Thrasher; and one grandson, Joshua Bryant.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Gayle Thrasher of Manila; two sons, Berlon (Lynn) Thrasher Jr. of Luxora and Frankie (Darlene) Thrasher of Manila; one daughter, Rhonda (Stacy) Bozeman of Columbia, Miss.; four brothers, Billy Ray (Mary) Thrasher of Mountain Home, Hillard Thrasher of Sheffield, Ala., James Earl Thrasher of Osceola, Gary Thrasher of Grapevine, Texas; one sister, Jeanette (Lealon) Nichols of Osceola; eight grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola with the burial at White County Memorial Gardens in Searcy, with Bro. Jerry Bibbs officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola was in charge of arrangements.
