Joseph Daniel “Danny” Armstrong

Joseph Daniel “Danny” Armstrong, 76, of Waverly, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Feb, 1, 2023, at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tenn. He was born Feb. 18, 1946, in Marked Tree. Danny served in the United States Army during Vietnam. After being discharged, he worked as a brick layer for most of his life and owned his own business. He was a member of Sneed Street Baptist Church in Arkansas and the League of the South. Danny enjoyed duck hunting and fishing.

Mr. Armstrong’s wishes were to be cremated.

A graveside memorial service for Danny Armstrong will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Marked Tree Cemetery in Marked Tree. Burial of cremains will follow.

Survivors include his mother, Maxine Thornton Armstrong of Arkansas; daughters, Karen Woods (Kenneth) of Arkansas, Donna Edington (Mike) of Arkansas, Becca Moss (Ray) of McEwen, Tenn., Rachel Greenway (Billy) of Arkansas and Leslie Armstrong of Arkansas; brother, Mike Armstrong (Doris) of Arkansas; sister, Sheila Brockwell of Arkansas; 20 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Armstrong; love of his life, Margo Armstrong; son, Vance Armstrong; brother, Manuel Armstrong and sister, Dorothea Bird.
