Barbara Ann Calvert

Barbara Ann Calvert, 89, of Mountain Home, formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Hiram Shaddox Nursing Home in Mountain Home. She was born Jan. 1, 1933, in Blytheville to Polk Hargett and Mattie Gladys Ratliff Hargett.

 Barbara enjoyed shopping and cooking, but mostly just spending time with her family. She loved to travel, but not at night. She and her husband managed apartments in several states over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Calvert; son, Brian Ashley Calvert; parents; brothers, Jimmy Mack Hargett, LB Hargett, Tiny Joe Hargett and Ricky Hargett; and one sister, Billie Keene.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam O’Dea, of Mountain Home; grandchildren, Ashley Cordell and Spencer Bullock of Jonesboro and Brian Calvert of Mountain Home; great-grandchildren, Hailey Cordell and Peyton Ferguson, Ashlyn (Ethan) Johnson, Hunter Cordell, Hadley Cordell, and Hailyn “Ruth” Calvert; brother, James (Elena) Hargett, of Steele, Mo.; sisters, Sandy (Mike) Chitmon, of Monette, Donna Rhodes of Steele, Mo., and Mary Carver, of Perryville, Mo.; a special niece, Shelly (Joe) Richardson, of Mountain Home; many other family and friends that will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 31, at 12 p.m. in Carney Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Bro. Tommy Rodgers officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
