Glenda Kay Jiles Atkinson, 71, passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022. Born to James Monroe “Jimmie” and Suvella Marie Miller Jiles in Blytheville, Glenda was of the Pentecostal faith, having been a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church where she sang solos and was a member of the choir. Glenda retired from Denso Manufacturing Arkansas Incorporated where she was the tool crib manager. She was also a former longtime employee of Milwaukee Tool prior to the company leaving Blytheville.

Glenda was a very talented individual who had a beautiful voice and loved to sing gospel music. She was also a very talented artist who loved to paint. She was skillful in creating embroidery work on clothing and other items. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, loved her pets and working in the house. She and her husband Ed loved to play cards (canasta) with friends and family. Glenda also loved to go crappie fishing, always looking forward to the times she and Edward would get to go to Reelfoot Lake. It was a love that she got naturally from her father. Glenda was a very dedicated worker who had a special unique relationship with the employees that she worked with. Glenda was just as dedicated to her family and friends as she was to her career. She was an individual who was always there when you needed her.

As a wife, she was faithful, loving, trusting, caring, selfless and protective. She was to be commended for her love and care shown to Edward during his illness. Glenda and Edward were blessed with 54 years of a dedicated and loving marriage. As a mother, she was always concerned about the welfare of her children and loved all of them with all her heart. To her grandchildren she was “MeeMaw”. She loved the moments of creating precious memories with each of them, for each one was special.
