W.T. Langley

W.T. Langley, 87, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, at the VA hospital in Little Rock.

Born in Luxora to William David Langley and Ina Mae Edwards Langley, he attended Burdette School where he excelled in football. He graduated in 1955 and received a scholarship to attend college. W.T. was a successful businessman and a super salesman. He owned the Chrysler-Dodge dealership in Blytheville. He was a farmer, and owned farms in Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana and Oklahoma. He served in the Army and Army Reserves.

W.T. was a caring and sensitive family man who could be depended on to help when needed. He loved his daughter, Mechelle, and his wife, Mary Ann, and shared his caring heart to bless so many in the extended family.

His journey with Christ began on March 4, 2002, under pastor Henry Applegate. W.T. and Mary Ann are members of Tenth Street Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ina Mae Langley; his brother, Billy Wayne; sister, Geraldine Leifiet; and niece, Annette Crabb.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Ann; daughter, Mechelle (Jack) Ashmore; granddaughter, Tiffany; grandson, Chris (Emily) Ashmore; great-granddaughter, Reagan Ashmore; brother, Rev. Thomas (Nola) Langley of Springhill, Fla.; sister, Linda Sanders of Broken Arrow, Okla.; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Langley (Ollie) Lee of Cleveland, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of W.T.’s life will be held Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with pastor Danny Rigney officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
