Rickie Lee Bobo

Rickie Lee Bobo passed away at his home on Sept. 27, 2022. He was 63 years old. Rickie was born April 20, 1959, to Junior Lee Bobo and Corine Small Bobo.

He was a 1977 graduate of Blytheville High School, attended Lane College and also received multiple certificates of training from Arkansas Northeastern College (formerly Mississippi County Community College) blueprint reading and technical diagrams, team building, problem solving and time management. He also obtained certifications in basic computer concepts from Cotton Boll Technical Institute. Borg Warner: coaching the forklift driver, Valentine tool, machine principles, Cincinnati Milacron; Cinturn 850 operations.

Rickie served his country in the United Stares Army for four years. He was a long-time Raiders fan and enjoyed listening to gospel music. He lived his life to the fullest.

Rickie was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Pollard-Bobo; his brother, Lee Roy Bobo; and his father, Junior Lee Bobo.

He is survived by his only daughter, Ricci Bobo of Virginia Beach, Vir.; his mother, Corine Small Bobo of Blytheville; brothers, Michael Bobo of Blytheville, Gregory (Sheila) Bobo of Pine Bluff and Ronnie Bobo of Stone Mountain, Ga.; nephews, Brandon Bobo of Stone Mountain, Ga., Charles Bobo of Birmingham, Ala., Lee Roy Bobo of St. Louis, Mo.; nieces, Kimberly Bobo-Pittman of Kennett, Mo., Brittney and Danielle Bobo, both of Pine Bluff; also hundreds of cousins scattered across the United States and France.

Burial services were held at Gethsemane Cemetery on Sept. 29, under the dedicated and professional supervision of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, to whom we are most appreciative for their services.

Private memorial services for family members will be held at his mother’s home on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. followed by dinner at 4 p.m.

This dinner also marks the beginning of the Bobo-Mhoon family dinners, which will be held at 4 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month at the home of Corine Bobo. Descendants of Gabriel Bau Beau I (later Americanized to Bobo) immigrated to Virginia in 1684 from France and the descendants of Adophus Mhoon are welcome to attend.

Rickie’s cousin Roscoe Mhoon stated at the funeral of their aunt Emma Nelms, “‘Family should get together more often than just at funerals.”

The first official Bobo-Mhoon family dinner will be held Nov. 5, 2022, honoring the memory of Rickie’s father, Junior Lee Bobo 1933-2020 who on Nov. 4 ,2022, would have been 89 years old.
