Corey Glen Corona, 44, passed from this life to meet the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022.

Corey was born in Miami, Fla., to Ben and Jan Nutt Corona. He was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Midsouth Community College. Corey worked as a driver for FedEx and was a former employee of Tenaris. Corey served his country with honor in the United States Navy. During his service, he served on the USS Saipan in the Mediterranean. He was a member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church. Corey was blessed with an outgoing and affectionate nature that made those that had the good fortune to meet him feel welcomed. His demeanor was amplified through his affinity of various sports, especially calling the Hogs and his love for the Atlanta Braves, fondness for the outdoors, family gatherings and expressing a genuine love for animals. Corey also had a passion for cooking and barbecuing. The world has lost an amazing person, but Heaven has gained a wonderful soul.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Corona; and grandparents, Fred Nutt and Hazel Beck.

Corey is survived by his mother, Jan Corona of Blytheville; brother, Allen Hall of Blytheville; uncle, Kevin and Lisa Nutt of Gosnell; aunt, Deloris and Eldon Jones of West Memphis; his dear friend, Jim Roberds of Blytheville; and numerous cousins and special friends that he cherished spending time with whenever given the opportunity.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of St. Bernards, especially to Dr. Bradley Reed, for the wonderful care given to Corey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in Corey’s honor to North Tenth Street Baptist Church.
