Franky Lee Washington of Blytheville was born Jan. 23, 1955, in Hughes to Doc and Laura Yancy Washington. Franky was a graduate of Rivercrest High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Franky was a dedicated and faithful member of Greater Jubilee Baptist Church where he served as a deacon under the pastorage of Pastor Lorraine Walker. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, dancing, and cheering for his favorite sports teams, the Boston Celtics, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doc and Laura Washington; one brother, James Dority; and a precious son, Dontrel “Donny P” Washington.

Franky passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at his home at the age of 67.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Rubystine Washington of the home; three sons, Quincy (Sharon) Reed of Bassett, Franky L. Reed of Osceola and Tedrick (Ruthie) Washington of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Trineeka Washington of Little Rock; sister, Laura Washington of Jonesboro; two brothers, Freddie (Minnie) Washington of Peoria, Ill., and Robert Washington of Blytheville; seven sisters, Pastor Loraine Walker, Shirley Howard, Barbara (JW) Burns, and Margaret (Jimmy) Yankaway, all of Blytheville, Helen Johnson of Peoria, Ill., and Tangie Washington of Greensboro, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Faith and Glory Christian Fellowship, 1510 Kari Lane, Blytheville, where Reverend Aadron Poole is the pastor. Funeral services will be conducted at noon. Pastor Loraine Walker will deliver the eulogy with interment following in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
