Lorene L. “Dottie” Johnson

Lorene L. “Dottie” Johnson was born Sept. 17, 1948, to parents Lacey and Emma Atkins in Hermondale, Mo. Lorene departed this life Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro. She was preceded in death by both parents and three siblings.

Lorene accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Macedonia MB Church, she later became a member of Mt. Moriah MB Church and now under the leadership of Pastor Clark Phillips of New St. Paul MB Church. She was a member of the choir.

Lorene was employed by Borg Warner, Milwaukee Tools and McDonald’s and later retired. Lorene enjoyed singing, cooking and shopping.

Lorene leaves to cherish her precious memories six children, one daughter, Michelle Lark (Greg) of Blytheville, five sons, Michael Warren (Mattie) of Jonesboro, Derrick Bair and Cedric Johnson, both of Dallas, Texas, Reggie Blair (Shannon) of Miami, Fla., and Mark Gordon of Little Rock. She also leaves to cherish her memories 12 siblings, Arlene Atkins, Patsy Lewis (Charlie), Douglas Atkins, Dan Atkins, Gloria Kuykendall, Annette James (Joseph), Linda Atkins, Mavis Atkins and Paula Howard, all of Blytheville, Carolyn Williams of Texas, Thomas Atkins (Carla) of Olathe, Kan., and Martin Atkins of Kansas City, Mo.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 2, at New St. Paul M.B. Church from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. at New St. Paul MB Church. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery.
