Vui Thi Walker

Vui Thi Walker, 73, of Gosnell, passed away Aug. 10, 2022, at the Manila Nursing Center in Manila.

Vui was born in Saigon, Vietnam, to Thuc Van Tran and Loc Thi Nguyen. Vui married Robert James Walker in September 1967, and moved to the United States. She traveled with her husband and children to New Jersey, Alaska, North Carolina, New York, the Philippines, and finally Arkansas.

Vui worked at a few factories, but mainly Acco in Blytheville, and American Greetings in Osceola until she retired in 2012 to take care of her husband.

Vui enjoyed landscaping her yard. Vui was also a wonderful cook. She loved feeding people whether they were family or co-workers.

In addition to her parents, Vui was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, and her husband.

Vui is survived by her children, Hai (Vonda) Walker of O’Fallon, Ill., Jacqueline (Wayne) Stokes of Etowah, Robert (Dawn) Walker III of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Victoria (Wesley) Maupin of McCalla, Ala.; grandchildren, Joshua Walker, Marissa Walker, Jeremy Walker, Jacob Walker, Michael (Chrissy) Stokes, Mason Stokes, Sierra Walker, Robert Walker IV, Charles (Autumn) Maupin, and Arianna Maupin; great-grandchildren, McKenzi Stokes, Micah Stokes, Joshua Conlee, Jaycie Greene, and the joy of her heart, Greyson Maupin.

Vui is survived by her brothers, Tuyen Van Tran of Blytheville, and Tuyen Van Tran of France, and her sisters, Thu Minh Tran of Beaumont, Texas, Thuy Thanh Tran of Camden, N. J., Huong Thi Thu Tran of Vietnam, Nga Thuy Tran of Northwest Arkansas, Kim Lien Thi Tran of Northwest Arkansas, and Xuan Kim Tran of Vietnam.

Vui would also like to remember special friends, Kirk and Gertrude Hicks, for allowing her to enjoy a few adventures with them.

We would like to thank the associates and residents of Monette Manor and the Manila Nursing Center for all their help, care, and support over the past few years.

Memorial services for Vui will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mason Stokes officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
