James Max Simpson

James Max Simpson was born June 30, 1953, in Gilmore to Donald and Helen Kate Burks Simpson. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Simpson passed away Aug. 3, 2022, at Flo & Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Don Simpson; and two sisters, Peggy Longcar and Maggie Simpson.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Simpson of Tyronza; two sons, Steven Davis of Independence, Kan., and James Davis of Trumann; two daughters, Patricia Davis of Memphis, Tenn., and Rebecca Simpson of Windfield, Ala.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with the funeral at 1 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. Burial will be at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza will be in charge of services.
