Patsy Ray Garrett Andrews, 84, of Blytheville, passed from this life April 28, 2022, at her home. Patsy was born to Truman Russell and Florence Lavelle Young Garrett in Blytheville. Patsy was a retired auditor of the Arkansas Department of Education living in Little Rock for 21 years and a member of the Cole Ridge Baptist Church. She was also a retired teacher of the Dell Public School System and was employed at the Blytheville Air Force Base and the Cotton Boll Technical Institute. She was a member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association and the Arkansas State Department of Education. Patsy was a person of strong work ethics as was evident in her work history. However, her ethics began at an early age. Patsy was a graduate of Dell High School where she was recognized for 12 years of perfect attendance. Upon graduation from high school, Patsy attended Arkansas State University and graduated Delta Pi Epsilon, Pi Omega Pi with a Master BSE degree in 1970. Patsy had a deep-rooted faith in Christ and enjoyed many close friendships in her church. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, William W. “Andy” Andrews; brothers, Jacky L. Garrett, Gary C. Garrett; and nephew, Andy Garrett.

Patsy is survived by her nephews, Scott Garrett of Dallas, Texas, Benjie and Jennifer Garrett of Cookeville, Tenn., Chris and Kendra Garrett of Cookeville, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Patty Garrett of Blytheville and Sheba Garrett of Cookeville, Tenn.; stepchildren, Dr. Scott and Shirley Andrews of LaGrange, Ga., Buzz and Gail Andrews of Dallas, Texas; four step-grandchildren and her church family who was so important to her.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 5, at 11 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
