Nancy “Monkey” DelRio

Nancy “Monkey” DelRio, 77, of Blytheville, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022, at Regional One Health in Memphis, Tenn.

Nancy was born in Burdette to Sam and Sylvia Roberts Jewell and attended Pathway Church of God. Caring for others always came easy for Nancy. She was a natural caregiver and was a retired nurse’s aide. She was the “neighborhood mom” and the children in the neighborhood could be found at her house any time of the day. She never met a stranger and always welcoming to everyone. She was very talented at making flower arrangements and worked for A-1 Flowers for some time. Nancy adored her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Manny DelRio; brother, Sammy Jewell; and sisters, Bobbie Presswood, Mary Pate and Vickie Vernon.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Anna Gifford and her husband Jim of Armorel and Sylvia Ray and her husband Lanny of Gosnell; grandchildren, Aaron Ray, Alexis Gifford, Brody Cash Gifford and Ally Jewell; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Kamry, Kashton and Kyson Ray; and sister, Doris Beck of Belleville, Ill.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held Thursday, April 21, at 3 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Pankey officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
