James Lynn “Jim” Branum

James Lynn “Jim” Branum, 64, of Blytheville, passed away April 5, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

James was born to James Edward and Irene Crawford Branum and was a Blytheville High School and Kaplan University graduate and attended First United Pentecostal Church. He enlisted in the United States Army then afterwards retired after 20 years with the Blytheville Police Department. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching old western and war and history movies. He listened to his favorite 70s music. James worked with many organizations including Life Blood, Lights of the Delta and Masonic Lodge

He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Ron Luhring and Jr. Buford; and sister, Joyce McCombs.

James is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vickie Branum of the home; his mother; children, Angela Branum of Memphis, Tenn., Rene Branum of Memphis, James Samuel Branum of Blytheville, and Katlin and Michael Bohannan of Gosnell; two brothers, Ronnie Branum of Johnsburg, Ill., and Brent Luhring of East Point, Mich.; two sisters, June McCombs of Henderson, Tenn., and Rita Perrygin of Jackson, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Garrett Branum (his bestest buddy), Luella “Lulu” Bohannan and Theodore Bohannan (his little buddy).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mended Paws Sanctuary and Blytheville Humane Society.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home with Bill Warren officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
