Plina Ann Speight Thomas

Plina Ann Speight Thomas, 79, of Jonesboro, formerly of Blytheville, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Plina was born in Memphis, Tenn., to James F. and Mary Pritchard Speight. She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of First Baptist Church in Blytheville. She was active in the church and the Walk to Emmaus. Plina was a member of the PEO, the Delta Doves and participated in several missionary trips.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Gary Thomas; and sister, Mary Etta Bennett.

Plina leaves her children, Steve Richardson and his wife Ami of Jonesboro and Stephanie Cox of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Corban Richardson, Canaan Richardson, Cal Richardson and Carson Cox; brother, James “Jim” Speight and his wife Mary Jane of Blytheville; and sister, Glenda Boyd and her husband Ronnie of Oxford, Miss.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 10, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Wilcoxson officiating. Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
