Pauline Williams Hart

Tuesday, March 8, 2022

Pauline Williams Hart (Bigmama) was born Oct. 17, 1924 to John and Cardelia Williams in Hickman. She returned to the arms of the Lord on March 6, 2022. Her transition was peaceful, at home, and surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Velma Hart Heard; son, John Hart, Jr.; brothers, Frank Deals and Curtis Deals; and sister, Willie Mae Ruffin.

Pauline was educated in the Hickman School System. She married John Hart and two children (John and Velma) were born to this union. She worked for over 40 years as a dry cleaner at Boone’s Cleaners & Fabricare Dry Cleaners and upon retirement continued working for the Blytheville School District as a crossing guard for 20 years. She was recognized often for her contributions to both entities. She confessed her love for Christ at a very young age and was a committed member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church until her passing. Her love for her church family was abundant, and under the leadership of the late Rev. Leo B. Burton and most recently, Rev. Anthony Burton, she was a member of the choir and mother’s board.

Her love for her church was superseded only by her love for her family. Affectionately known by many as “Bigmama,” she was the family’s matriarch and will be missed dearly. Left to cherish her memories are her grandchildren, Jacqueline Wells, of Las Vegas, Nev., Stephanie (Virgil) Miller, of Newnan, Ga., Brendolyn (Anthony) Glover, of Chicago, Ill., and Wendell Bobo, Ricky (Melisa) Logan, Carolyn (Duane) Herbert, Michael Williams, Mary Bell, Gwendolyn (Develle) Whitley, and Regional Heard, all of Blytheville; 20 great-grandchildren, Brittny (Bruce II) James, Aneshia Falls, Briosha (Justin) Reed, Sharonda Falls, Monique Miller, Ravyn Miller, Ellisjah Whaley, Jelisa McNeary, Christopher Logan, Tareuna Heard, Tarrance Heard, Akiria Heard, Tykiria Heard, Kobe Heard, Samare Heard, Brylee Heard, Kentrell Bobo, Joseph Clark, and Derrick Trible; 13 great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Janice Burton; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was a pillar in the community of Blytheville and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 12, at 12:00 noon at Prince of Peace Church, with Rev. Anthony Burton officiating and internment following at Memory Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and asks for your prayers and strength. Please adhere to COVID-19 prevention measures by wearing a mask.
