Jerry Dee Wade, age 81, of Florence, Ala., formerly of Blytheville, passed away at his home on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2022.

Jerry was born in Blytheville to Lowell Dee Wade and Zettie Clayton Wade and attended the Church of Christ. Jerry was a graduate of Blytheville High School and upon graduation began working at Blytheville Iron and Metal Company where he eventually became vice president. After retirement in 2005, Jerry and his wife left Blytheville for the metropolis of Jonesboro where the stayed for over 10 years. For the last two years they decided to live in Florence, Ala., near their youngest daughter, Twyla.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Philip D. MacDonald and Terry W. MacDonald; infant great-grandson, Ethan Robert Scott; and brother, Phillip Clayton Wade.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty Jo of Florence, Ala., whom he met and married in 1978; daughters, Paula Chism and her husband Lee of Armorel and Twyla Banks and Shane of Florence, Ala.; sister, Shirley Fleming and her husband Jessie of Batesville. Jerry was also granddaddy to 10 grandchildren and great-granddaddy to eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
