Joe Willie Williams was born May 17, 1946 in Joiner, the son of Joe Edward and Lucille Wiley Williams. Joe attended Rosenwald High School. At the young age of 17, he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in the Vietnam War, 101st Airborne division as a platoon leader. He loved music and was a jazz enthusiast as well as a wildlife fanatic, which included big cats and fishing. He meant so much to so many... a man who had faith in God and believed in the importance of family. He was a protector, mentor and friend, who will always be remembered. 

Joe passed away Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 75.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Hazel B. Walters-Williams of the home; five daughters, Felicia Byrd, Rochell Williams, Connie Williams-Blackwell, Vivian Williams and Melanie Williams; three brothers, Hubert Brown, Tony Brown, and Eddie Brown; three sisters, Leola Robinson, Judy Brown and Helen Brown; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, 1300 East State Hwy 158, Luxora, where Reverend McArthur Hampton is the pastor.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. Reverend McArthur Hampton will deliver the eulogy with interment in Luxora City Cemetery.
