Bertha Lorine Galloway

Bertha Lorine Galloway, 101, of Manila, passed from this life Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at the Monette Manor Nursing Center. Born in Marks, Miss., she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Esther Pearl Barnes and had lived most of her life in Manila. She was a homemaker and loved quilting for her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Chester Hitchcock and Edward Monroe Galloway, and two sons, James Harold Hitchcock and Richard Carl Hitchcock.

Survivors include one son, James Earnest Hitchcock of Raiford, Fla.; four daughters, Mary Betty Vandiver and Wanda Green, both of Manila, Martha Galloway of Leachville and Brenda Reed of Tennessee. She also leaves many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, in the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Jacob Britt officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila.

Honorary pallbearers include Larry Galloway, Ricky Galloway, Terry Green, Dallas Green, Zach Depriest and Matthew Galloway.
