Update: Police make arrest in murder; one at-large

Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson said police have arrested a suspect in Thursday’s fatal shooting of 24-year-old Randy Lewis in the 900 block of 21st, while another suspect is at-large.

“Witness statements supported by surveillance and BPD Skycop video identified the offenders in the shooting as 27-year-old Ricky Wilson and 29-year-old Roderick Wilson both of Blytheville,” Thompson said. “At approximately 3:00 pm Ricky Wilson was taken into custody for Murder 1st without further incident. Roderick Wilson remains at large as of the date and time of this release wanted for Murder 1st by the Blytheville Police Department. The investigation indicates the victim and offenders knew each other and met together on a parking lot in the 900 block of South 21st street when the shooting occurred. No bonds have been set as of the date and time of this release.”

At approximately 12:30 Thursday afternoon, officers of the Blytheville Police Department responded to the 900 block of South 21st street in reference to a subject shot.

“Prior to officers’ arrival witnesses and other citizens transported the victim to the Blytheville Great River Hospital Emergency Room,” Thompson said. “Additional officers responded to the Emergency Room and identified the shooting victim as 24-year-old Randy Lewis of Blytheville. Mr. Lewis died as a result of his injuries while receiving medical treatment at the Blytheville Emergency Room.”
