Robert D. Vornes Sr.

Robert D. Vornes Sr. of Osceola was born Dec. 18, 1958, in Wilson to the late George Vornes Sr. and Eddie Bea Gordon Vornes. He departed this life on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 61. He was preceded in death by his father, George Vornes Sr., and one brother, Nathaniel Vornes.

He was a concrete finisher and gardener. He loved football and fishing.

Robert leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Iola Williams; his mother, Eddie Bea Vornes, both of Osceola; one daughter, Nikki Vornes Jones of Blytheville; two sons, Robert Vornes Jr. of Keiser and Mario Barber of West Memphis; three sisters, Cassandra Faye Johnson of Junction City, Kan., Debra Morgan of Dallas, Texas, and Georgia Washington of Forrest City; six brothers, George Vornes Jr., James Vornes, both of Milwaukee, Wis., Charles Vornes, Curtis Vornes, Barry Vornes and Chris Vornes, all of Osceola; nine grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8, from 11-11:45 a.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home and Cremation, 634 W. Main Street Blytheville, AR 72315. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette.
