Pastor David Lee Corns

Pastor David Lee Corns, 68, of Blytheville transitioned to his heavenly home on December 28, 2018. He was born, June 29, 1950 in Dewitt, Arkansas to L C Corns and Verdia Swift.

David accepted Jesus at an early age. He was an anointed singer and an organist/pianist of substantial skill. He trained choirs and vocalist; additionally, he has taught many to become skilled on the piano and the organ. David received his early education in the Pine Bluff school system. He graduated from Southeast High School in 1970. It was at the age of thirty-three that he entered college and graduated from MCCC and he continued to earn a bachelor and a master from Central Christian University.

He was married for 47 years to Missionary Patricia Williams Corns and they lived a blessed life. They were not blessed to have biological children.

Dr. D.L. Corns served as pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ in

Marked Tree, AR for 34 years; he also served in Lepanto, Joiner and Jonesboro, AR. He has served as State Director, Assistant State Minister of Music, District Minister of Music and numerous positions through the years. Dr. Corns was serving at the time of his departure as the Prolific, Prestigious, Proud Pastor of Nehemiah Temple Church of God in Christ for 34 years and the Superintendent of the Blytheville District for some 20 years.

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife of 47 years, Missionary Patricia Williams Corns; three brothers: Steve Roalston of Pine Bluff, Jeffery (Mary Ann) Roalston of Blythe, CA , and Lawrence Corns of Apopka, FL; nine sisters: Jessie Mae Mann of Los Angeles, CA , Maxine Johnson of Pine Bluff , Lela Mae Simpson (Jerry), Willis Marie Moore of Memphis, TN, Elizabeth Gamble (Fred) of Los Angeles, CA, Laurie Bishop (Elder Gregory Bishop), Mary Jones (Ricky) of Little Rock, Melanie Swift of Houston, TX and Jannie Corns of Indiantown, FL; host of other family members, Nehemiah Temple COGIC Family and the Blytheville District Family.

Celebration services will be held Friday, January 4 at 6:00 p.m. in Blytheville at Nehemiah Temple COGIC; Saturday, January 5, at 12 noon at Holy Temple Cathedral COGIC in Little Rock; Sunday, January 6 at 11:00 a.m. at East End COGIC in Pine Bluff.
