Bobbie Jean McKissack-Hughes

Sister Bobbie Jean McKissack-Hughes was born May 12, 1942 to Murray and Alberta McKissack in Portageville, Mo. On Wednesday, February 14, 2018 Sister Hughes passed away at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 75. Sister Bobbie and two sisters Willie Ruth and Lestean were raised by their grandmother, Lucinda Lewis in Burdette.

She is preceded in death by eight siblings: Rosalie, Juanita, Molly Mae, Pearlie Mae, Zettie Dee, Cora Lee, Elbert and L.A. Sister Bobbie leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, John Dale Hughes (Sherron) of Mufresboro and J.M. Patterson of Osceola; four daughters, Trudy Hughes, Terrie Hughes, Amilya Scott and Halie Scott of Blytheville; two sisters, Willie Ruth Pollins of Benton Harbor, Mich. and Lestean Lynom of Fort Wayne, Ind.; brother-in-law Clyde Pollins of Benton Harbor, Mich.; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and God-children. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. The funeral will be held February 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Faith & Glory Christian Fellowship in Blytheville, with Rev. Adron Poole officiating. The burial will be held at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette. Funeral services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home of Blytheville.
