Mrs. Essie Kate Windmon, 77, of Osceola passed away December 4, 2017 in Jonesboro. She was born August 19, 1940 to William Thomas and Estella Taylor Beecham in Buena Vista, Mississippi. She was a homemaker, member of Greater Macedonia M.B. Church in Wilson, Motherboard, former Sunday School Superintendent, former Sunday school teacher and former head of food bank ministry for Greater Macedonia M.B. Church.

She is survived by her husband, Booker Windmon of Osceola; two sons, Booker T. Windmon, Jr. of Raeford, N.C. and Eric (Sheila) Windmon of Sherwood; three daughters, Doris Windmon, Lisa (James) Marshall, both of Osceola and Pamela Windmon of Memphis, Tenn.; five brothers, William Holiday of Chicago, Ill., Carl Beecham of Little Rock, John, Jerry and Terry Beecham, all of Wilson and James Beecham of Washington D.C., five sisters, Nancy (J.T.) Yankaway of Blytheville, Georgia Tyler of Chicago, Ill., Evelyn Harris of Toledo, Ohio and Ruthie Welch and Jessie Cole, both of Osceola; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Alice Davis; seven brothers, Clarence Thomas, Charlie B. Thomas, William Thomas, Leroy, Melvin, Joe and Thomas Beecham; five sisters, Queen Anderson, Mary Essie Pendleton, Willie Jean Thomas, Magdeline Thomas and Ollie C. Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Greater Macedonia M.B. in Wilson, with Rev. Bryant Whitted officiating. Burial will be at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Services provided by Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola.
