John Robert Hoskins

Mr. John Robert Hoskins, age 57, of Keiser, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Born in Three Rivers, Mich., he was the son of the late Robert Hoskins and a 1976 graduate of Three Rivers High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Universal Steel in Grenada, Miss. where he worked as a welder. He also enjoyed fishing and working on trucks.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Hoskins and a great-grandson, Javeon James.

Mr. Hoskins leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Rethia Lindsey Hoskins of the home;

One son, John David Hoskins of California;

Three daughters, Crystal Herron of Jonesboro, Susan Sanders-Smithey of Keiser and Amber Hoskins of Three Rivers, Mich.;

His mother, Barbara Hoskins of Three Rivers, Mich.; and

Two sisters, Connie Poulsen of Three Rivers, Mich. and Karen Rector of Scotts, Mont..

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Allen Walker and Rev. Keith Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Garden Pointe Cemetery in Etowah. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until service time.
