Ernestine Ione Mathis

Ernestine Ione Mathis, 92, of Blytheville, passed from this life Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Gosnell Healthcare.

Born in Ravenden to Ernest and Lula Mae Rook Hollowell, she was retired from Ark-Mo Power where she was a construction clerk. Ernestine was a member of Main & 13th St. Church of Christ and she often volunteered in the gift shop at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. H. "Bodi" Mathis; and three infant children, Ronald Harwood, Sara Elizabeth and William Ernest.

Ernestine is survived by her son, Lewis Henderson Mathis of Blytheville; and

Three nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Duane Cooper and Mr. Bill Cathey officiating. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be private. Condolences to the family may be expressed at cobbfuneralhome.com
