Photo ID law would hurt senior voters
To the editor:
Senate Bill 2 would place a severe burden on the fundamental rights of older Arkansans to vote.
Older voters vote more often than any other age group ... but are less likely to have photo ID, compared to members of other age groups. There is no question that citizens over 65 will be particularly impacted.
There are already adequate procedures in place to prevent fraud.
The state of Arkansas should be making it easier for people who should vote and want to vote.
I respectfully ask Sen. David Burnett and Rep. Monte Hodges to vote no on Senate Bill 2.
