Ruby Johnston Nance

Ruby Johnston Nance, formerly of Memphis passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City.

She was born Dec. 10, 1919, in Jonesboro to the late Lot and Nancy Johnston. She retired after 25 years with Union Planters Bank in Memphis and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Murrell Nance and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by 11 siblings, Pauline Johnston, Mildred Johnston, Clyde Johnston, Lunda Johnston, Jerry Don Johnston, Paul Johnston, Madelyn Johnston Reid, Thressie Johnston Reese, Bob Johnston, Juanita Johnston Shelton and Evelyn Johnston Beshiers.

A celebration of her life was held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Patty Soward officiating with burial at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation was Wednesday noon until time of service at the Gregg Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Bryan Johnston, Brian McCoy Josh Wadley, John Wadley, Sam Johnston and Don Johnston.
