James Albert Eubanks, 59, former resident of the Lost Cane Community, died March 19, 2007, at his residence in Calhoun, Ga. He was born June 7, 1947, in Manila.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ambers Albert Eubanks.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Eubanks of the home; his mother, Nina King, of Leachville; sons, James Steven Eubanks of Niles, Mich., and Joseph Kevin Eubanks of North Port, Fla.; a step-son, Mike Cook and wife, Lucy, of Calhoun, Ga.; step-daughters, Patti and Tim Norton of Sugar Valley, Ga., and Karen and David Williams of Calhoun, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles Ray Eubanks and Shirley Eubanks of North Port, Fla.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Copeland of Leachville, Sharon and Jessie Clark of Manila, and Louanne and Wayne Cagle of Leachville; grandson, Joseph Eubanks, Jr.; step-grandchildren, Brandon Norton, Katie Norton, Tiffany and Brad Goldston, Misty Cook, Ashley Cook, and Jessica and Kevin Williams; and a step-great-grandson, Braxton Goldston.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Rev. David Ray and Jim Little officiating. Burial was at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Sonoraville, Ga.
