Mississippi County Judge Terri Brassfield has spearheaded an initiative this month of delivering food bags to Blytheville School District students, grades K-12, to be used over the district’s Thanksgiving Week break. Students that are at risk of hunger, when school is out, miss a guaranteed breakfast and lunch, and therefore in some cases must go hungry. Brian Tanner considers himself a product of Blytheville. He grew up here, went to school here and learned who he was here. In 1997, he graduated from Blytheville High School and then went on to Williams Baptist College (WBC) to further his education. Now he lives in Los Angeles, California, where he coaches basketball and tries to focus on helping his sons become successful. On November 4, during WBC’s 100-year celebration of basketball, the school retired Tanner’s jersey...
