The entire upstairs back wall of Buffalo Island Museum is covered with tools and items used on the farms of days gone by. The entire afternoon could be spent just browsing in that area. One odd piece caught my attention and when I looked at the card, it read it was a buggy step, donated to the museum by Park and Odgen Williams...

Buffalo Island Central held its end of year staff luncheon Wednesday, June 4, at the West Elementary cafeteria in Monette. During the luncheon retirees Terry Rose, Karalee Gibson, Coty Cornish, Lynn Smith, Peggy Holland, Val Smithee and Corrine Johnson were honored as they fellowshipped and enjoyed a meal with teachers, administrators and staff from both BIC campuses...

J.L. Clayton may add upcoming author to her resume as her first novel, "A Spark of Magic: Chosen Saga, Book One", is receiving good reviews. Clayton has been a Leachville resident for 18 years and is well known in the community as she makes her rounds delivering mail. She has worked as a mail carrier for the Leachville Post Office for eight years...

Kyley Campbell of Black Oak will be loading up her horse, Ote, and traveling across country to Casper, Wy., for her first appearance in the College National Finals Rodeo. Kyley, daughter of Buster and Linda Campbell, will be a senior at Arkansas State University. She, along with her sister Katey, are members of the ASU Rodeo Club...

Arkansas Northeastern College and Community Education are offering basketball camps this summer for those interested in having fun and learning to be a better player.
