John Richard Archer

John Richard Archer, 85, of Blytheville, passed away May 7, 2023, in Gosnell. John was born in Jonesboro on March 8, 1938, to Mack and Rosine Archer. 

As a 1961 graduate of the University of Arkansas College of Engineering, John was an avid Razorback fan. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his granddaughter. He was a devout Catholic all of his life. He was a local business owner who founded Archer Engineering in 1973 after working for various firms such as Lockheed Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Rosine Archer; his loving wife of 37 years Pat Archer; and his brothers, Mack, Jr. and Bill Archer. 

He leaves behind three children, John (Suzanne) Archer of Silver Springs, Fla., Michael (Tammy) Archer of Blytheville, and Suzie (Gary) Brooks of Blytheville; one beloved granddaughter, Beth Lackey of Sherwood; one step-grandson, Thomas (Dani) Futch; three step-great-grandchildren, Karlie, Ryan, and Macy; and Jane Allen of Cordova, Tenn.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, May 10, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Francis Mandau officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Rosary will begin at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Immaculate Conception Church in Blytheville due to allergies and sensitivities.
