Lawrence Arnette Lane

Lawrence Arnette Lane, 69, of Osceola passed away Jan. 21, 2023, at SMC Medical Center in Osceola. He was a transportation director for Osceola School District and worked for Chessie Jones for 25 years, was a member of Grace Temple and chairman of the Deacon Board. Mr. Lane was born March 5, 1953, in Dumas to McClinton and Mary Alice Whitfield Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lawrence Lane, Jr.; and one brother, Terrance Lane.

He is survived by his wife, Flossie Lane of Osceola; one son, Shaquille (Lucretia) Lane of Gosnell; three daughters, Monica (Jermaine) Jenkins of Georgia, Sonya Lane of Osceola and Carmen Lane of Watervliet, Mich.; one brother, Billy Lane of Dumas; two sisters, Katherine Tramble of Little Rock and Alice Dugas of Lake Village; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 28, from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral at 10 a.m. at Grace Temple in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with pastor Andre Watson officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola will be in charge of the arrangements.
