Readout of the Governor’s Meeting with House and Senate Leadership

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.—Following a meeting with Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and House and Senate leadership, Sanders’ spokeswoman Alexa Henning released the following readout:

“Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders met with Senate President Pro Tempore Bart Hester and House Speaker Matthew Shepherd today to discuss the legislative session and the bold, transformational reforms they will work together to unleash for Arkansans. Senator Hester and Speaker Shepherd congratulated Governor Sanders on her historic inauguration and a successful first day in office. Governor Sanders expressed her intention to expand access for all Arkansans to quality education, deliver another tax cut, and decrease violent crime through public safety reform – priorities the group shares and is ready to take action to deliver upon. They agreed to meet weekly and look forward to working together to pass - and sign into law - historic reforms that will take our state to new heights.”
