Frances England Dozier, 86, of Valrico, Fla., passed away peacefully on Jan. 6, 2023, in Plant City, Fla.

She was born in Blytheville to the late James Elec England and Millie Bivens England. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubert (Al) E. Dozier; her brother, James L. England; her sister, Ramona Cain Guizar; nieces, Deborah Cain Bader, Pamela England Prudhomme; and nephews, Rusty Allen Dozier and Terry Lloyd England.

After graduating from Blytheville High School, Frances worked for the Southwest Bell Telephone Company. On July 14, 1956, Frances married her beloved husband, Al Dozier, in Blytheville at the Air Force Chapel on Blytheville Air Force Base. Together they celebrated over 40 years of marriage filled with love, laughter and devotion to each other.

She steadfastly supported and contributed to Al’s highly successful Air Force career, and worked in various banking positions as they moved from duty station to duty station during his years of service. She also found great success in her own right. Beginning as a volunteer for The Military and Family Support Center at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., she went on to lead efforts that established a highly successful Volunteer Resource Program for volunteer coordination and recognition that garnered her selection as one of the Volunteers of the Year in Tampa. Later, her efforts led to establishment of a prototype program for Air Force Family Support Services that was eventually implemented across the U.S. Air Force. She was also an active member and national President of the Air Force Sergeants Association Auxiliary.

Though she did not have children of her own, Frances often said she was blessed with wonderful nieces and nephews. They will attest that she was a wonderful and supportive aunt. She is survived by nieces, Terrie Dozier Rush (Eric) of Mulberry, Fla., Anna Dale Dozier Axley (Terry) of Bradenton, Fla., Jerri Dozier Wickett of Edmond, Okla., and Deniese England Seal of Rochester Hills, Mich.; nephews, David E. Cain (Ann) of Pine Bluff, Eddie Dozier (Sharon) of Stafford, N.H., Butch Bader of Temple Hills, Fla., and Dennis England (Susan) of Leonardtown, Md.

Frances was a devout Christian, and a member of Bell Shoals Church. She had many good friends and neighbors, loved to play cards, and was totally devoted to her dogs, Elsie and Taco.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m. in Dogwood Cemetery Rev. David King officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Frances’ memory to Bell Shoals Church, 2102 Bell Shoals Road, Brandon, Fla. 33511.
