Michael Charles Hobeck, Jr.

Michael Charles Hobeck, Jr., 41, of Manila, passed from this life Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born in Chester, Ill., and raised in Manila, he was a 1998 graduate of Manila High school, graduating as salutatorian. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving two tours in Iraq. After his discharge from the Army, he returned to his academic studies, attending the University of Colorado Boulder and receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Arkansas State University, where he graduated with honors. He was self-employed as an investor in the stock market. Michael enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his father. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Hobeck, and his maternal grandfather, Danny Mills.

Survivors include his father, Michael C. Hobeck (Vicki) of Manila; his mother, Terry Mills of Perryville, Mo.; his brother, Dustin Hobeck of Paragould; two sisters, Sunny Toy (Isaac) of Otisco, Ind., and Kayla Moore (Adam Sasarita) of Nashville, Tenn. He also leaves his paternal grandmother, Laverne Hobeck; maternal grandmother, Virginia Polite of Perryville, Mo.; and his nieces and nephews.
