James Roy Loyd, 93 of Blytheville, passed from this life Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born to Jesse and Grace Gibson Loyd in the Promised Land Community, he was a retired set-up person for Randall Company and a long-time member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Blytheville.

James was an individual who loved gardening and farming and was one who would share the fruits of his labor with others. He also loved to raise cattle and to spend time being outdoors. His faith in God was reflected in his love for family and friends. He loved his church and enjoyed the times of fellowship. He loved his family and was thankful for every moment shared with them.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in law, David Ramsey; brother, Delbert Loyd; and sister, Virginia Hayes.

James is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen May Loyd of the home; children, Jimmy and Pam Loyd of Mesa, Ariz., Ron and Rhonda Loyd of Blytheville, Kim Ramsey of Lake City and Scot and Candy Loyd of Shawnee, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin Lee Loyd of Baytown, Texas; and sister, Mildred Wadkins of Beebe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scot Loyd and Rev. Ezekiah Gorley officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Masks are required for entry into Cobb Funeral Home.
