Linda Viola Wilson, 72, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at her home.

Linda was born in Burdette to Brent and Dorothy Wheeler Hamm. She had a big, loving heart and a compassion for people which led her to pursue her career in caregiving. Linda enjoyed watching westerns and listening to gospel music. Family was most important to her. Linda adored her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Wilson; daughter, Penny Smith; and siblings, David Hamm and Brenda Summer.

Linda is survived by her children, Peggy Smith and Sherman Dale Wilson, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; brothers, Brent Hamm of Chicago, Ill., and Ray Hamm of Armorel; sisters, Sharyn Parrish of Luxora and Donna Beckwith of Yukon, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, face masks are required to enter the building.
