Jimmy Dority, Sr. was born in Frenchman’s Bayou on May 26, 1948, to Willie and Elise Malone Dority. Jimmy was a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Jimmy passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 73.

He leaves to cherish his memories four sons, Kenny Johnson of Orlando, Fla., Jimmy (Latricia) Dority, Jr. of Blytheville, Michael (Amber) Dority of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Angelino ( Angela) Jones of Peoria, Ill.; two daughters Sherry (Tony) Gillon of Parkin, Arkansas; and Stephanie (Ducy) James of Sherwood, Arkansas; former wife and mother of his children Elnora Dority Warren of Blytheville, Arkansas; three brothers Jerry Dority, Sr. of Marion, Arkansas; L.A. Dority of Chicago, Illinois; and Milton Dority of West Memphis, Arkansas; two sisters Mary Dority Whitfield of Joiner, Arkansas and Rose Mary Perry of Jonesboro, Arkansas; thirty-three grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation and funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until funeral services begin at 1:00p.m. at New Immanuel Baptist Church, 1425 South Elm Street, Blytheville, Arkansas where Reverend Burton Furlow is the pastor. Reverend Anthony Burton will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette, Arkansas.
