Philip Nation, 81, of Bartlett, Tenn., formerly of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at his home.

Philip was born in Blytheville to Silas and Matibell Harris Nation. Philip was a graduate of Blytheville High School and attended Baylor University. He served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Philip was musically talented and was a wonderful piano and drums player. In high school, he was the drummer in the marching band as well as the swing band. His love of pianos led him to work for the Yamaha Piano Division where he would retire. He was proud of his accomplishments he made through the company and was most proud of being named the District Manager of the Decade from 1992-2002. Philip enjoyed photography and spoiling his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Philip leaves his son, Bradley Nation and his wife Amy of Bartlett, Tenn.; brother, Rodney Nations; grandchildren, Ivy Nation, Robin Wylie and her husband Hunter and Colton Nation and his wife Becca; great-grandchildren, A.J. Smith, Alaila Smith, Avalyn Wylie and Easton Stryker Wylie; and niece, Becky Nations.

A celebration of Philip’s life will be held Friday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.
