Early voting starts Aug. 3

Early voting for the special election to extend the half-cent sales and use tax for economic development in Mississippi County will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 3, and run through Monday, Aug. 9.

Early voting will be held from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m at the Osceola Courthouse, 200 West Hale Ave.; Mississippi County Election Center, 509 North Fifth Street, Blytheville; and Manila Depot Center, 105 Dewey, Manila.

The election will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, with polls open from 7:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Polling places on Tuesday will include the Mississippi County Election Center, Blytheville; Trinity Baptist Church, 918 East Main, Blytheville; Richard B. Harrison Multipurpose Building (formerly AAMOD), 801 Elm Street, Blytheville; Armorel Planting Co., 4611 North State Highway 137 Spur, Armorel; Gosnell Community Center, 201 South Airbase Highway, Gosnell; Dell Community Center, 204 School Street, Dell; Leachville City Hall, 116 South Main Street, Leachville; Manila Depot Center, 105 Dewey, Manila; Mississippi County Courthouse, 822 Plantation Rd.,Burdette; Charles Strong Recreation Center, 620 West Canal, Luxora; Main Street Bingo Hall, 108 West Hale Ave, Osceola; Keiser 1st Baptist Church, 210 East Main, Keiser; Wilson Fire Station, Wilson; Joiner City Hall, 209 North U.S. Highway 61, Joiner; Birdsong Fire Station, 261 North State Highway 308, Birdsong; Dyess Community Center, 101 East Fourth Street, Dyess; Etowah Fire Station, 4675 West State Highway 136, Etowah; and Bassett City Hall, 101 Main Street, Bassett.

The measure would extend the tax for 10 years from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2033.
