Charles Edward "Snooky" Kirk

Charles Edward "Snooky" Kirk, 73, of Manila, passed from this life Saturday, July 24, 2021, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in the Roseland Community, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Jewell Hale Kirk and had been a lifelong area resident. "Snooky" was a retired farmer, having worked for the late Billy Griggs as well as Mark Dixon Farms. He was very mechanically inclined and could repair anything. "Snooky" enjoyed hunting, fishing and working outdoors. He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Little River Baptist Church in the Lost Cane Community as a child. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, W.C. Kirk.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce Kirk and David Kirk, both of Manila; his daughter, Angie Jones of Manila; two sisters, Dorothy Williams and her husband, Billy of Osceola and Mary Ann Pritchard and her husband, Jerry of Jonesville, La. He also leaves nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the Manila Cemetery with Floyd Winstead officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The family has requested those that attend wear face masks and observe social distancing guidelines. Online guest register: www.howardfuneralservice.com
